Panchu is located at the foot of the Vrancha Mountains, in the southern part of the Eastern Carpathians , 30 km north of the municipality of Focsani .

History
These places were first mentioned in a document of 1589 under the name "Krucha". In 1798, the name Panchu was first mentioned.
In 1931, the Panchu commune was transformed from rural to urban.
