Saint Materian was the brother of the holy bishop of Milan Materna . Having become bishop in 348 , Saint Materian remained in the pulpit until 359 . He died on July 7, 368 . Donatian was his successor at the episcopal department of Reims .
In the 9th century, Archbishop Hinkmar gained his power and bestowed Louis II of Germany to the King of the East Frankish state . The acquisition of relics occurred on April 30 [1] .
