Creation History
The premiere of "The Secret Agent" was originally planned for UPN in September 1999, but was postponed to the middle of the season in August 2000 due to the desire to give the producers of the show more time to work on props and special effects. The series also did not have a shot of a traditional television pilot ; instead, it was ordered by UPN on the basis of only one presentation clip [1] .
The main characters were named after famous jazz musicians - Telonius Monk , Billy Holliday , Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck .
Music
In the opening credits of each episode is the song "Secret Agent Man", written by Johnny Rivers in the 1960s, performed by the group. This song was also used on another spy series, Dangerous Man .
