Arkady Moiseevich Gilman ( March 13, 1913 - May 2013 ) - Soviet and Russian chess player , master of sports of the USSR (1965).

He achieved the greatest success in the correspondence game . Twice participated in the championships of the USSR by correspondence (1948-1951 and 1963-1964). As part of the RSFSR team, he twice became the winner of the USSR team championship in correspondence (both times he played on the 2nd board).
He lived in Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod) . Repeatedly became the champion of the city and region.
In the late 1990s. moved to Canada. He performed in local competitions. He is probably the oldest participant in the rating tournament in history: he played the last reliably known game in the Canadian Open 2008 (draw with Italian chess player A. Testa ). FIDE Canadian master D. Goldenberg recalls playing with Guilman in 2009. [1]
