Maori zuyek [1] ( lat. Charadrius obscurus ) is a species of bird from the charadriiformes family. It lives in New Zealand , one subspecies on the North, and the second on the South island. IUCN assigned the status of CR to Maori Zuik [2] .

Lay eggs in spring or summer. The nest is just a shallow hole on the beach, located above the maximum tide level.
