Long Island Nets (American Long Island Nets ) - American professional basketball club, serving in the Eastern Conference of the Atlantic Division of the NBA Development League . Based in Nassau County, New York . The Nets plays their matches in the Nassau Coliseum arena. The Long Island Nets became the 12th club of the development league, which directly belongs to the NBA club [3] .

History
In June 2015, Brooklyn Nets reported that they want to acquire a club in the development league [4] . On November 5, 2015, Brooklyn announced that they had reached agreement on their new team in the development league. It will be called the “Long Island Nets,” and its home matches will be held at the Nassau Coliseum . In the first season, the Long Island Nets will play at the Barclays Center for the repair period of the Nassau Coliseum.
On March 24, 2016, the Nets hired Elton Byrd as vice president of business operations [1] . On April 15, 2016, Ronald Nored was introduced by the head coach of the Long Island Nets [5] . November 12, 2016 "Long Island" won the first victory in the history of the club over the " Canton Charge " [6] . On July 17, 2018, Will Weaver became the new head coach of the Long Island Nets. [7]
