Biography
Francisco Javier José Antonio Bento Urbano was born on May 25, 1691 in Lisbon . He was given the tutul of the Duke of Beja , the great prior Kratu and Lord Infantado. Plans to marry him on Archduke Mary Magdalene of Austria , the sister of Queen Mary Anna , failed at the initial stage of negotiations.
Francisco was never married and had no legitimate children. He died on July 21, 1742 in Obidos . He was buried in the Royal Pantheon of the Bragans dynasty in Lisbon.
Career
Responding to a request from Pope Clement XI for help in the fight against the Turks, in 1716, the King of Portugal, Juan V (brother of Infanta Francisco) sent an armada of Portuguese ships to help Venice and Austria in their fight against the Turks, led by the Duke of Beja and Count of Rio Grande Lopo Furtado de Mendons [2] .

He had two illegitimate sons from the nun Mariana Silveira, who died during the Lisbon earthquake of 1755:
