Biography
Born September 13, 1966 in the city of Fougeres (department of Ile and Vilen ) in the family of a farmer and educator. He graduated from the rural family home Higher Education Institution for children from the countryside ( French: Maisons Familiales Rurales (MFR) ) in Paris. He worked as a sales representative in the wine industry.
In 1989, at age 22, Thierry Benoit was elected to the council of the commune of Lekus, a suburb of Fougere ; In 2001, he became vice mayor in charge of economic development, rural areas and the environment. In 2004, he was first elected to the General Council of the department of Ile and Vilen from the canton of Fouger-Sud; he was subsequently re-elected to the General Council in 2012, and in 2015, together with Frederic Miramon, he was elected from the canton of Fougere-1 to the Council of the Department of Ile and Vilen .
In the 2007 National Assembly election, Thierry Benoit became the centrist candidate in the 6th constituency election department of Ile and Villene. Having won the election, he did not join any faction in the National Assembly. In June 2009, he took part in the founding congress of the Alliance of Centrists Party Jean Arthuy, became the leader of the party’s branch in the department of Ile and Vilen. In 2009, he was elected Secretary General of the Centrist Alliance.
Having retained the deputy’s mandate after the elections to the National Assembly in 2012, he became a member of the parliamentary group of the Union of Democrats and Independents party, which united most of the centrist forces. In 2017, for the third time, he won the elections in the 6th constituency of the department of Ile and Vilen. In the National Assembly is a member of the Economic Affairs Commission of the National Assembly. Repeatedly advocated maintaining the unity of the centrist parties of France.
