Diastella (lat.) Is a genus of flowering plants of the Protein family , which includes small bushes. The genus name is derived from the ancient Greek diastellein divided, which is associated with divided perianth lobes, which distinguishes the genus from the closely related genus leukospermum in the presence of 4 separate segments. In total, there are 7 species in the genus. Endemic to the Cape region of South Africa [2] . Many species are on the verge of extinction [3] .
