Biography
Born on July 6, 1963 in the city of Saint-Malo (department Il-Villena ). He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Rennes I. At the age of 19, he began working in the team of the future mayor of Saint-Malo and National Assembly deputy René Kuano; after the election of Kuano as a deputy in 1988 until 2012, he worked as his assistant.
In 1995, Gilles Lurton for the first time, and later three more times elected to the city council of Saint-Malo. In 2008, he received the post of vice-mayor for housing. In 2011, he won the elections to the General Council of the Department of Il-Villena from the canton of Saint-Malo-Sud. At the elections to the National Assembly in 2012, René Kuano, who won the elections five times in the 7th electoral district of the department of Il and Vilen, decided not to stand as a candidate, and Gilles Lurton decided to run for parliament as an alternate candidate of the right, since the Union for Popular movement I chose not his official candidate, and managed to win. After that, he left the General Council of the Department of Il and Wilen.
In 2014, in the municipal elections in Saint-Malo, the list of René Quano sensationally took only third place, losing the post of mayor to his former deputy, Claude Renault; Gilles Lurton went to the city council, but lost the post of vice-mayor, going to the opposition. During the presidential primaries of the party, the Republicans in 2016 supported Bruno Le Mayor .
As a result of the elections to the National Assembly in 2017, he managed to keep the deputy’s mandate. In the National Assembly is the secretary of the Commission on Social Affairs and one of the most active participants in the meetings of the National Assembly in the Republican faction.
