Bucharest is a developed industrialized city in Romania , its GDP is about 21% of the country's GDP. About a quarter of industrial production is produced here, although the population in this case is only 9% of the country's population [1] . Almost a third of government taxes are paid by Bucharest citizens and companies. In 2009 (at purchasing power parity), Bucharest had a GDP per capita of € 26,100. This is 111% of the average in the European Union . GDP is more than twice the average GDP in Romania [2] . The Bucharest Stock Exchange was merged in December 2005 with the Bucharest Electronic Exchange ( Rasdaq ).
The city has a number of international supermarket chains , such as Auchan , Carrefour , Cora and METRO . At the moment, the city is experiencing a retail boom, a large number of supermarkets and hypermarkets are built every year. There are large shopping centers, for example, AFI Cotroceni, Băneasa Shopping City, Bucharest Mall, Plaza Romania, City Mall, Mega Mall, Park Lake, Unirea Shopping Center.
