Biography
Born April 5, 1967 in Paris . He has two master's degrees: in economics and business management and in political science. From 1992 to 2000, she worked in the apparatus of the Regional Council of Brittany, dealt with issues of European cooperation, then worked in the financial group “Cash desk of deposits and consignments” ( French Caisse des dépôts et consignations ).
Laurence Maillard-Meeneri began her political career in 2014 when she joined the Alliance of Centrists Party, which became one of the constituents of the Union of Democrats and Independents . In the same year she ran for the European Parliament , having received the second number on the list of centrists in the West region, but the list received only one place left to the leader of the Alliance of Centrists Jean Arthuy. She became his assistant, and held this post until the beginning of May 2017. In 2015, she was the sixth in the list of right-wingers in the department of Ile and Vilen in the elections to the Regional Council of Brittany , but was not elected again, since only the first five candidates were elected.
In 2016, she was nominated as a single candidate for the right to vote in the National Assembly in 2017 in the 2nd constituency of the Ile and Vilen department, but this decision was not confirmed in March 2017, when the Republican parties and the Union of Democrats and Independents signed an agreement on joint nominating candidates for future elections to the National Assembly.
A possible reason for this was the participation of Laurence Mayard-Meeneri since January 2017 in the activities of the Movement Forward movement and the support of Emmanuel Macron . In May 2017, after the scandalous removal from the election of the former press secretary of François Hollande Gaspard Gantzer, the party “ Forward, Republic! "Announced the support of Laurence Mayar-Meyeneri as a candidate from the Democratic Movement party, her junior partner, after which she won a landslide election, receiving in the 2nd round almost 75% of the vote.
