Sleeping Beauty is a fantasy musical based on works by Vasily Zhukovsky . Music and libretto - Vadim Tur. The premiere of the musical took place on October 25, 2017 in the Khabarovsk Regional Musical Theater . It has several variations in different theaters of the Russian Federation .

Creation History
The idea of staging the musical belongs to the composer Vadim Tura. The basis for the libretto was the tale "The Sleeping Princess " and the poems of Vasily Zhukovsky. Also, in some scenes of the musical, materials from old authentic folk songs and rituals are used.
Story
The plot of the musical is based on the tale "The Sleeping Princess" by Vasily Zhukovsky. But unlike the original source, part of the action is postponed in our time. The hero, our contemporary - biker, fascinated by the legend of the sleeping beauty, penetrates from the real world into the parallel world of fantasy, where he overcomes the curse of the witch and finds his love. The action of the musical takes place in ancient times in the fairytale state of Tsar Matthew and in our time. The witch, angry at the king, sends a deadly curse on the newborn Tsarevna. A good sorceress, who entered into a magical duel with a witch, softens the curse and predicts not death, but a magical dream that will last three hundred years. On the day of her fifteenth birthday, the princess is the image of the mysterious Suicide — herald of her love, but she is pricked on the spindle, and the whole royal court falls asleep with it. An impenetrable forest surrounds the palace, a formidable Dragon guards the approaches to it. It takes three hundred years. A group of bikers traveling along an old abandoned road turns out to be near a mysterious forest — there is no further way. Bikers decide to go back, but one of them, fascinated by the beauty of the unusual place, remains. He meets an old man telling the legend of the Sleeping Beauty, who has been waiting for his savior for three hundred years. Inspired by the story of an old man, Biker rushes into the thicket to meet his dream. And he finds himself in a fabulous parallel world, where he overcomes obstacles lined up with witch magic, defeats the dragon and awakens the Princess from a magical dream. In the final of the musical, the wedding of the Princess and the Biker is announced. Love has defeated the forces of evil!
