Biography

Alexander G. Rubtsov, Russian, was born into a peasant family in 1910, in the village of Vyachka (the area is now called Kirsanovsky ) in the Tambov Region .

  • Received primary education.
  • Before the war and in its early years he worked on a collective farm.
    • 1931-1935 - served in the ranks of the Red Army [1] .
  • March 1944 - the city of Leningrad ( St. Petersburg ) was called up to the Red Army by the Vyborg District Military Commissariat.
    • In the same year, he came to the front of World War II.
    • He fought as a gunner of the machine gun of the machine gun company of the 296th Infantry Regiment as part of the 13th Infantry Division of the 21st Army of the Leningrad Front .

Feats

  • June 16, 1944 - Sergeant Rubtsov, gunner of the easel machine gun, in the area of ​​Kivennap (Leningrad Region), when repulsing an enemy counterattack, destroyed about 15 Nazis.
    • June 26, 1944 - he was awarded the Order of Glory 3 degrees.
  • January 21, 1945 - Sergeant Rubtsov, the commander of the machine gun company of the same regiment and division (59th Army, 1st Ukrainian Front ), exterminated 11 fascists in the battle for the village of Podlipe (22 km east of the town of Dбbrowa Górnicza , Poland ) .
    • By order of the troops of the 59th Army (No. 19 / n) on February 16, 1945 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
  • On March 2, 1945, while mastering the fortified Aichheusel point (5 kilometers southwest of the city of Neustadt (now Dębovec, in the commune of Prudnik of the Opole Voivodeship of Poland )), machine-gun fire supported the advance of our units.

    Rubtsov’s calculation reflected the enemy’s repeated counterattacks, crushed several firing points, and defeated dozens of Nazis. In this battle he was seriously injured, but did not leave his position.

    • By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, Senior Sergeant Rubtsov Alexander Grigoryevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree and became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
  • On April 6, 1945, Rubtsov Alexander Grigoryevich died from his wounds in the hospital of the 202nd field evacuation point. He was buried in the garrison cemetery of Ober-Glogau (now the city of Glogowek ), Opole Voivodeship , Poland [2] .
