Lev Zinovievich Kontorovich (b. January 30, 1947 ) - professor. Artistic Director of the Academic Bolshoi Choir of the Russian State Musical Television and Radio Center. People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2013).

Biography
In 1965 he graduated from the Moscow State Choir College. A.V.Sveshnikova .
In 1969 he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky , where he was engaged in choral conducting with Professor K. B. Birds, symphonic conducting with Professor L. M. Ginzburg and instrumentation by A. G. Schnittke. At the end of the conservatory, L. Z. Kontorovich returned to school as a teacher of special disciplines and a conductor of the boys choir, and in 1992 he was appointed head of the department of choral conducting at the Academy of Choral Art [1] .
Since 1996, Professor L.Z. Kontorovich has been teaching at the Moscow Conservatory at the Department of Choral Conducting, and since 2018, he has been the Head of the Department.
From 2011 to 2017, he taught at the Department of Contemporary Choral Performing Arts of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Theater, and from 2012, he was the head of the department.
Since 2005, L.Z. Kontorovich is the artistic director of the Academic Bolshoi Choir Masters of Choral Singing.
In 2008 and 2012, the Academic Bolshoi Choir led by Lev Zinovievich took part in the inauguration ceremonies of the Presidents of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev [2] .

In 2014, “For exemplary service to the Fatherland and highly useful work for the good of the Russian State,” Professor LZ Kontorovich was declared gratitude to the Head of the Russian Imperial House of the Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna.
In 2017, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of the Russian Orthodox Church “Glories and Honors” of the 1st degree.
