The Donetsk Clan is a criminal financial and political group that occupies one of the key places in Ukrainian politics and economics of the late XX - early XXI centuries. Created on the basis of the former nomenclature and red directors [1] .

Classification
It is divided into two subgroups:
- The "old Donetsk" - which includes Yefim Zvyagilsky , Vladimir Rybak , Nikolai Azarov , Viktor Yanukovich , Vladimir Boyko and others - these are mostly former so-called "red directors", pupils of the Soviet school.
- “New Donetsk” is a group of Rinat Akhmetov and Boris Kolesnikov , who has occupied a dominant position in the Donbass since the mid 90s of the XX century.

Impact
At the moment, the Donetsk clan [2] has become the ruling four times in Ukraine - in 1993-1994 (under the acting Prime Minister Zvyagilsky), in 2002-2005, from the summer of 2006 to the end of 2007 (under the Prime Minister Yanukovych) and from March 2010 ( President Yanukovych, Prime Minister Azarov) until February 2014.
Goals
The political goals of the group are the proclamation of the Russian language as the second state language in Ukraine, the federalization of Ukraine, and allied relations with Russia.
