The Terebovlya ghetto is a ghetto for representatives of the Jewish people, created during World War II in the city of Terebovlya .
As of mid-1941, about 1,700 Jews lived in Terebovlya. In November 1942, Jews were transferred to the city from the surrounding villages and small towns - Strusov and Budanov . On November 5, 1942, 1091 Jews were taken to the extermination camp in the town of Belzhets , and 109 were shot in the town itself.
On December 1, 1942, according to the order of SS Kruger , the Terebovlyansky ghetto was founded. At that time there were about 2.5 thousand people in it. Ghetto was located on Y. Sobieski Street, a modern street. Sich Riflemen, which stretched from Shevchenko Park (then Pilsudski Square) up to Qazareni (barracks).
In 1943 the ghetto was liquidated. The German gendarmerie, with the help of the Ukrainian police, conducted three mass executions of Jews near Plebanovka :
- On April 7, 1943 , about 1,100 people were shot,
- On June 3, 1943, 845 people were shot,
- On June 5, 1943, the last 350 inhabitants of the ghetto were shot.
Only a few dozen inhabitants of the ghetto managed to escape and survive.
