Biography
Her father was Cesare Augusto Segizzi (January 19, 1873 - January 5, 1933), one of the most popular composers of Italy at that time. Cecilia, returning to Italy after exiling to the Wagna refugee camp in Austria during World War I , began to study violin playing with Alfredo Lucarini and graduated with honors from the Verdi Conservatory in Milan . At thirty, she alternated concerts and teaching in high school and music. In the meantime, she began to devote herself to writing, completing her studies with a diploma from the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste under the leadership of Vito Levy. At the age of fifty, she founded and managed the Gorizia polyphonic complex, with which she won first prize at the national polyphonic competition in Brescia . Now she lives in Gorizia , Friuli-Venezia-Giulia .
Style
Her music catalog includes more than 130 compositions, among which a lot of choral music. It is in choral music that she makes the most use of sonority and driving rhythms. This is similar to Alfredo Casella , Paul Hindemith and Giulio Viozzi . Her very conservative style is associated with neoclassicism and has no trace of innovation introduced by the musical Vanguard since the 1930s.
