Römer + Römer (Nina and Torsten Römer) live and work as a German-Russian art duet in Berlin . ^[one]

Thorsten Römer (b. 1968, Aachen ) studied painting at the Münster Art Academy with Professor Udo Scheel and at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts with professors Riesz, Siegfried Antsinger, Helmut Federle and A.R. Penk . In 1996, he received a grant from Kunstverein Düsseldorf . Nina Römer (nee Tangyan, 1978, Moscow , the granddaughter of the Soviet writer Yuri Trifonov and great-granddaughter of the Ukrainian-Soviet artist Amshey Nuremberg ), studied painting at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts with professors Helmut Federle and A.R. Penk . Nina and Torsten Römer met while studying at the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts and together they graduated with a diploma of the highest qualification of masters of painting from A.R. Penk . In 1998, they began working as the art duo Roemer + Roemer, and in 2000 moved to Berlin. In 2011, they were awarded the Lucas Cranach Prize of the city of Kronach . ^[2]

The work of Römer + Römer includes painting , photography , digital art , graphics and performance . In addition, they organize and oversee exhibitions. Work with digital images determines their characteristic style and pictorial technique. The transformation of your own photos into large-format panels is carried out in several stages.
