Petrovka is a village in the Gryazinsky district of the Lipetsk region . Center Petrovsky rural settlement. Located on the left bank of the Matyra River at the confluence of the Lukavka River.

It was founded in the middle of the XVIII century by the landowner Peter Velyaminov, by whose name it got its name. In the documents of 1782, the village of Petrovskaya was mentioned, which was owned by P.L. Velyaminov.
In subsequent years, it became the possession of the landowners Blankov. The daughter of Peter Blanca Alexander in 1821 married Peter Nikolayevich Semenov. Their son is P.P. Semenov-Tian-Shansky . Since 1834 he has been to Petrovka several times.
