History
06/01/1951 in the village Vaenga formed the office of the Chief of Air Defense of the Northern Fleet, but a year later, on December 15, 1952, was reorganized into the office of the commander of the Air Defense of the Northern Fleet.
02/01/1957 in Severomorsk formed the management of the Northern Air Defense Corps [2] , and a year later 01/01/1958 the corps was reorganized into the staff of the Air Defense Forces of the country.
07/25/1958 included in the Northern Air Defense Army.
04/04/1960 renamed the 21th Air Defense Corps .
In 2009, reorganized into 1 East Kazakhstan Brigade.

- 1528th anti-aircraft missile order of the Red Star Regiment - military unit 92485 (Arkhangelsk region, Severodvinsk) [1] - command, automatic transmission, 3 divisions of 12 units. SAM S-300PS. For 2018, it is planned to supply one division (8 launchers) of S-400 air defense systems);

Interesting Facts [4]
- On July 1, 1960, the reconnaissance aircraft ERB-47H Stratojet (registration number 53-4281, 38th strategic reconnaissance squadron of the US Air Force) was shot down by the Soviet pilot Vasily Polyakov on the MiG-19 over the Barents Sea . Four people from the ERB-47H crew died, two more were saved by the Soviet side and released in 1961. [5] .
- On April 20, 1978, a South Korean Boeing 707 was forced to land by Captain Bosov .
