Geography
The farm is located in the southeastern part of the Belgorod region, on the left bank of the Plotva River, near the border with Ukraine , 21.3 km in a straight line south-west of the regional center of Volokonovka . The nearest settlements: the village of New to the north-west (below the channel of the Roach), the village of Borisovka to the south-east (above the channel of the Roach).
Name Origin
The settlement is named after the river on which it is located (the name "Plotvyanka" is derived from the hydronym "Roach") [2] .
Historical Review
In 1859 - the Biryuchensky district "Plotvyansky farm owned by the river Plotva" "between country roads to the cities of Kharkov and Stary Oskol ."
In 1900 - Valuysky district of Borisov parish "Plotianka farm (Plotianny) by the Plotva river", a land plot of 386.8 tithes , a public building, a parish school.
Since July 1928, the "Farmhouse" in the Borisov village council of the Volokonovsky district.
By the 1950s, the farm, remaining in the same village council of the Volokonovsky district, had regained its old name - Plotvyanka.
In the early 1970s, the Plotvyanka farm was listed in the Volokonovsky Village Council, but closer to the 1980s it was again in Borisovsky.
In 2010, the Plotvyanka farm was part of the Borisov rural settlement of the Volokonovsky district [2] .
Population
In 1859 - 40 yards, 345 farmers (9171 men, 174 women).
In 1900 - 78 households, 484 residents (251 men, 233 women).
As of January 1, 1932, there were 753 residents in Platyanka.
According to population censuses in Plotvyanka on January 17, 1979 there were 156 farmers, on January 12, 1989 - 124 (52 men, 70 women), on January 1, 1994 - 138 residents and 54 households; in 1997 - 50 yards and 126 residents, in 1999 - 164 residents [2] .
