From the nobility of the Smolensk province . Brother of Nikolai Mikhailovich Przhevalsky .

He graduated (1st category) from the Alexandrinsky orphan cadet corps.

From 1862 to 1912 in military service, major general (1905), lieutenant general (1910). Since 1866, a full-time teacher of the 3rd Military Alexander School (mechanics, mathematics).
