Hilarius (d. C. 1795) - Russian monk ; builder of the Root Christmas-Virgin Desert of the Russian Orthodox Church .

Biography
Came from the Great Russians; spiritual rank. He received monasticism with the name Hilarius in 1758 in the Astrakhan Spassky Monastery (it has not survived to date); at the Astrakhan bishop's house he was a sacristan, housekeeper and confessor.
Later, Hilarius was appointed the builder of the Pokrovsky monastery. From there he crossed into the Sarov Desert of the Tambov Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church [1] .
On October 20, 1792, Hilarius was appointed viceroy in the Nativity of the Virgin-Mother of God deserts ( Kursk diocese ) with the order to establish communal orders there. After working on the reorganization of the inner life of the desert for three years, Hilarius, of his own free will, returned in 1795 to the Sarov Desert, where he soon died [1] .
