Seventh issue of standard stamps (1948-1954)

In May 1948, stamps of the seventh standard issue, which was published until September 1954 [12] [13], were put into circulation. The seventh standard issue was the first post-war. The series consisted of stamps of eight denominations . In miniatures, the artist Vasily Zavyalov depicted: a miner (5 kopecks), a sailor (10 kopecks), a pilot (15 kopecks), a collective farmer (20 kopecks), the Coat of arms and flag of the USSR (30 kopecks), a scientist (45 kopecks), the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin (50 kopecks) and infantry soldier (60 kopecks). For the first time, the standard series was printed by gravure printing [12] [13] .

The sequence of elements in the table [Comm 8] corresponds to the catalog number of the USSR stamps ( CFA ) [2] [14] [15] , the numbers in the Mikhel catalog [16] [17] [18] are given in parentheses.

Additional issue of standard stamps (1948-1954)

In September 1948, a high-nominal brand of an additional standard issue was issued. The miniature repeats the drawing of the brand ( CFA No. 806) of the standard issue of the Kremlin ( 1941 ) in a small format [19] . Printed by intaglio printing (like the seventh standard issue ), however, it differs in paper quality and serration . In addition, the stamp differs from postage stamps of the eighth standard series , offset printed. The stamp was reprinted in mass circulation in 1953 ( CFA No. 1255B) ( Mi # 1245II) on thick paper and with a reduced drawing size (14.5 × 21.5 mm), as well as in offset printing paper in 1954 (drawing size 14, 25 × 21.0 mm) - ( CFA No. 1255-I) [2] [14] [17] .

Eighth issue of standard stamps (1948-1958)

Since October 1948, the stamps of the eighth standard issue began to come into circulation. The first were reprinted stamps repeating the drawings of the previous (seventh) standard issue , made by Vasily Zavyalov , however, the color and face value were slightly changed: “Coat of arms and flag of the USSR” - 40 kopecks. In addition, the highly rated “Airplane and Banner of the Air Force” brands were issued with various serration options, paper quality and miniature size. Stamps were printed offset . Unlike other stamps of the eighth edition, the miniatures of which repeated the drawings of the standard stamps of the seventh edition of the artist Vasily Zavyalov , a 1 ruble denomination was issued in an enlarged format and with a new design - the plane and flag of the USSR Air Force [12] [13] .

The order of the elements in the table [Comm 8] corresponds to the catalog number of the USSR stamps ( CFA ) [15] [20] [21] , the numbers in the Mikhel catalog [18] are given in parentheses.
