Biography
Sports career
2013
The young Spaniard played his first match in the main draw of the ATP tournament in Barcelona in April 2013. He lost this fight to Russian veteran Nikolai Davydenko.
2014
In April 2014, starting with the qualification, he reached the semi-finals at the ATP in Casablanca, losing to the more experienced Guillermo Garcia Lopez with a score of 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. Thanks to this result, he rises to many positions in the ATP ranking.
On June 9, 2014 he gets his best rating on Nr. 182.
2016
In 2016, at the French Open, he played his first match in Grand Slam tournaments.
2018
On February 11, 2018, he won his first ATP title in Quito (Ecuador) against Albert Ramos-Vignolas with a score of 6-3 4-6 6-4. And reaches the 72nd position in the world ranking. At the end of 2018, the Spaniard is firmly in the top hundred tennis players.
2019
The beginning of 2019 was not the most successful for Roberto in his career. Suddenly, the defeat at the Australian Challenger in Canberra by Harry Bursier (6-7 6-1 3-6), followed by an unfortunate failure in the 1/64 finals at the Australian Open, where the Spaniard was opposed by Serbian tennis player Viktor Troitsky.
