Ha-Yamin Ha-Hadash ( Hebrew הימין החדש , “New Right” ) is the political right party of Israel , in which religious Zionists and secular Israelis are represented on equal terms. The party was created on December 29, 2018 , and its founders are Naftali Bennet and Ayelet Shaked , who announced the withdrawal from the Jewish House party and the creation of a new party, in which Bennett will chair. History
By the end of December 2018, the Knesset of the 20th convocation was dissolved and elections were announced in the Knesset of the 21st convocation . A few days later, Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked reported at a press conference:
| We have lost our ability to influence the prime minister. Netanyahu realized that religious Zionism "is in his pocket" and religious Zionists will always come to him [2] |
Knesset member announced that she will also leave the Jewish House party and join the Ha-Yamin ha-Hadash [3] party.
The party will run for election to the twenty-first Knesset . The founders of the party said that it would be a right-wing party and that there would be partnership and parity between secular and religious. [2]
In the April 9, 2018 election, the party did not overcome the percentage barrier.
At a joint press conference on July 21, party leaders Shaked and Bennett announced that Ayelet Shaked would head the New Right party in the 22nd Knesset elections.
