Biography
Born in 1936 in a Ukrainian family in the territory of modern Lugansk region [1] .
Since 1958, he worked as a mechanic for the Shevchenko collective farm of the Novopskovsky district of the Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk) region. One of the first to create and lead a mechanized link. In 1966, 54 centners of corn per hectare were harvested and was awarded the Order of Lenin . Subsequently, even in adverse weather conditions, he received yields of up to 40 centners of corn per hectare [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, for outstanding achievements in the development of agricultural production and the fulfillment of the five-year plan for the sale of agricultural and livestock products to the state, Nikolai Grigoryevich Babkin was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle Gold Medal [1] .
In subsequent years, continued to work as a link. He was elected as a deputy of the village and district councils [1] .
