Valeria Fedorovna Orlova (born January 18, 1926, Ryazan Region) is a Soviet and Russian scholar, a specialist in judicial handwriting. Doctor of Law (1974), Professor (1983), Chief Expert of the Russian Federal Center for Forensic Expertise ( RFCSE ) under the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1998 [1] ), Honored Lawyer of the RSFSR (1976).

Biography
Born in Spassk. She graduated from Moscow Law Institute (1947) and in 1950 graduate school. In 1950-1952 Senior Lecturer, Saratov Law Institute. She was the deputy director for scientific work of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Science (VNIISE). Member of the Academic Council of the RFSCE [2] .
Member of the editorial board of the journal “Forensic examination” [3] .
In 1953 she defended her thesis “Fundamentals of personal identification by handwriting in Soviet forensics” (academician B.I. Shevchenko ), in 1974 at the All-Union Institute for the Study of Causes and the Development of Crime Prevention Measures - her doctoral dissertation “Theory of Forensic Science” handwriting identification in Soviet forensics. " The author of more than 150 scientific papers.
She was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree (1985) and the medal "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" (1992).
