Biography
Youth
Saenchai was born in 1980 in the province of Mahasarakham [6] . He began training at eight years old, taking an example from his older brother. A week after the start of training, he entered the first battle and won, earning thirty Thai baht - less than one dollar. At the age of fourteen, Saenchaya was bought by the main Bangkok Muay Thai team, and he left his native hall. His first transfer cost the new owners 300,000 baht - about $ 10,000. At sixteen he won his first title - became the champion of Lumphini [7] .
Professional career
Senchay is 166 cm tall and weighs 60 kg [6] . Because of his small dimensions throughout his career, he was opposed by rivals that surpassed him in physical parameters. Saenchai became the champion of Lumphini in five different weight categories [7] , and the world champion in scales superior to his own [4] . In 2009, he even entered the ring simultaneously against two fighters [8] .
In 2002, Saenchai switched to professional boxing . The following year, on November 27, he made his debut in the ring, in the battle for the vacant title of the Pan-Asian Boxing Association , which ended with the victory of Saenchai. Then he once defended the title and left boxing [9] . In total, Saenchai spent 5 boxing matches and won 5 victories, including 2 by knockout.
In 2009, Saenchai decided to play for the Thai national football team [10] . Now the fighter has 303 wins, 52 losses and 3 draws. Signature hit, which he became famous throughout the world, kick with support on the arm. Saenchai trains in the Yokkao gym [6] .
In addition to Thai boxing titles, Saenchay is the champion of Glory , the main kickboxing tournament in the world. Saenchai is a very eccentric fighter - he fought the legendary boxing champion Reedick Bowie [11] , and also challenged Conor McGregor [3] to the ring. Over the course of his entire career, Saenchai has only once lost to an opponent not from Thailand. The judges made a controversial decision in a fight with Fabio Pink, and despite the fact that the difference in weight was twelve kilograms not in favor of the Thai athlete.
Since 2014, Saenchai almost stopped fighting with representatives of Muay Thai and began to compete with the world's best kickboxers [12] . In total, Saenchai spent 335 kickboxing matches, of which he won 289, including 36 by knockout, and lost 41.
Saenchai travels a lot around the world and holds training seminars. Events are always very spectacular, as the master always arranges shows for visitors and interacts with the audience as many fighters of his level would never have allowed themselves [11] . The last defeat Saenchai suffered in 2014 and currently has a series of 40 consecutive wins [13] . Recently, he also performs according to the rules of Kard Chuek - an analogue of Muay Thai, where fighters use hemp ropes to bandage their hands instead of gloves.
Aliases
The real name of the fighter is Supachai Saenpong. According to the tradition adopted in Muay Thai - a fighter takes a sports pseudonym for the name of the first hall, where he began to practice. Further, it may change depending on the name of the new team for which the athlete stands. During his career, Saenchai performed under four pseudonyms:
- Saenchai Sor Kamsing
- Sangpech Patakam Jim
- Saenchai Sor Kingstar
- Saenchai Sor Saenchai [14]
