The 1999 VNBA playoff matches were held from August 24 to September 5, 1999 . According to the results of the regular championship, three best clubs from each conference entered the playoff season. The winners of the conference semifinals were revealed in one single match, but the conference finals and the decisive series were held until two victories. The champion , for the third time in its history, was the Houston Comets club, which beat the New York Liberty club 2-1. “Komets” reached the VNBA finals for the third time and all three times became championship triumphs, “New York”, in turn, reached the decisive stage of the playoffs for the second time, but did not have a single victory. The most valuable player in the finals was Cynthia Cooper , who won this honorary trophy for the third time in a row.
