Kinyamel , (port. Quinhámel ) - a city located in the north-east of Guinea-Bissau . The administrative center of Biombo County. The population is about 43 thousand people (as of 2009).

After the outbreak of the internal political conflict in Guinea-Bissau in 1998 (the so-called “June 7 conflict”), the civil war and armed clashes, up to 100 thousand refugees from neighboring regions of the country gathered in the area around the city.
Population and administrative divisions
The city's population is mainly composed of ashes . Administratively, in Kinyamel, besides the city itself, there are about 65 settlements, mainly small villages ( Tabancas ). The city itself is divided into 6 parts ( Bairros ). The most significant are the following of both groups: Bijimita, Bimlim, Bucomil, Coupedo, Blom, Dorsa, Ome, Ondama, Qwilanda, Quitaa.
Farm and Attractions
The city is located on the ocean coast, so fishing plays a special role in its economy. Fishing is also carried out on the Rio Mansoa River. In addition, agriculture is developed here. Of the most common crops should be called rice, mangoes, cashews. In the city there is the Portuguese distillery Destilaria do Manuel Português , which for decades has been producing strong alcoholic drinks from local exotic agricultural raw materials (cane sugar, cashew nuts, honey, etc.).
With the help of the ARTISSAL nongovernmental organization in Kinyamel, the traditional textile industry for the people is supported and developed at the Fábrica de tecelagem do Panu di Pinti enterprise, and the production of fabrics with patterns typical of African African cultures has been established. With the help of ARTISSAL, an ethnographic museum ( Museu Papel ) is also organized in the city, the exposition of which tells about the history and culture of the local population.
The city of Kinyamel is also known for its beaches and traditional craft industries (fabrics). The most representative hotel here on the coast is Hotel Mar Azul . The most respectable restaurant is Esplanada Omay , famous for its grilled oysters, which are traditionally served with cold beer.
