Nikolai Ivanovich Kolesnikov (1929-2009) - Soviet and Russian historian, teacher, Komsomol and party worker. Candidate of Historical Sciences (1972). Honorary Citizen of the Sakhalin Region (2001) [1] [2] .

Biography
Born in a teacher's family. In 1947, together with his parents, he came to Sakhalin, in the village of Ozeretskoe, Aniva District , where in April of the same year he began working as a fisherman of the coastal fishing team at Peschanskoye Fishery Plant, and in August he was sent to Komsomol work: first he worked as a senior leader in Pioneer Anivskoy High School, and since December 1948, he has headed the department for pioneering work in the Aniva district committee of the Komsomol [3] . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1949.
In 1951 he graduated from the biennial Yuzhno-Sakhalin Teachers' Institute , receiving a diploma of a teacher of Russian language and literature, as well as physical education [3] . In 1955 he entered the correspondence department of the Khabarovsk Pedagogical Institute , on the 5th year he transferred to the South-Sakhalin State Pedagogical Institute (he graduated in 1961). Then, until 1963, he was studying in person at the Higher Party School at the Central Committee of the CPSU . In the years 1968-1972 in absentia studying in graduate school of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute. IN AND. Lenin , where he defended his thesis on the theme " The CPSU 's activities to increase the activity of the intelligentsia in communist construction (1956-1966), " received a degree in history [4] .

- May 1956 — September 1961 - First Secretary of the Sakhalin Regional Committee of the Komsomol (in 1958–1961 - Candidate Member of the Bureau of the CPSU Regional Committee)
- August 1963-1965 - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Sakhalin Regional Committee of the CPSU
- December 1965-1967 - Head of the School Department of the Sakhalin Regional Committee of the CPSU
- September 1967-1974 - Head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Sakhalin Regional Committee of the CPSU
About 20 years was a member of the Sakhalin Regional Party Committee
From July 1974 to January 1983 as Rector of the South-Sakhalin State Pedagogical Institute . When it was built a new academic building and several hostels [4] .
From the beginning of 1983, he worked for two years as a senior researcher at USSPI , from February 1985 to early 1989 as a lecturer in the propaganda and agitation department of the Sakhalin Regional Committee of the CPSU, after which he returned to the Pedagogical Institute. Since January 1989 - Associate Professor of the Department of CPSU History and Scientific Communism (since 1991 - Department of Social and Political Sciences; in March 1994, he was elected her professor) [5] . From August 1998 to 2004 he headed the Sakhalin Center for Documentation of the Newest History, was the Deputy Director of the State Archives of the Sakhalin Region, without interrupting the teaching activities in SakhSU .
In 2004, he retired and moved to the city of Chernogolovka, Moscow Region, where he lived until the end of his days.
