Biography
Born in 1867 in the Swiss city of Stans. After graduating from high school in his hometown in 1885, the Capuchin monastery in Lucerne entered [2] . March 25, 1890 was ordained a priest [2] . In 1893 he graduated from the study of canon law, after which he served in various educational institutions led by the Capuchins. In 1905 he went on a mission to the Seychelles . Since 1920 - on a mission to Tanzania [2] .
On February 15, 1923, Pope Pius XI appointed him the Apostolic Vicar of Dar es Salaam and titular Bishop of Claudipolis of Isauri. On June 24, 1923, he was ordained a bishop by the titular bishop of Tipasa of Mauritius and the apostolic vicar Unianembe Henri Leonard, accompanied by the titular bishop of Carra and the apostolic vicar of Zanzibar, John Gerald Neville and bishop of Guy Port Vicennes.
July 5, 1929 resigned and returned to Switzerland. He died on August 20, 1934 in Dornach.
