Agzybir ( azerb. Ağzıbir ) is a village in the Pirazin administrative-territorial district of the Agdash region of Azerbaijan .

Etymology
The name of the village means "a river flowing into another body of water" [1] .
History
The village of Agzibir in 1913, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Elizavetpol province, belonged to the Pirazin rural community of Areshsky district [2] .
In 1926, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Azerbaijan SSR, the village belonged to the dacra Lyaki of the Geokchay district.
After the reform of the administrative division and the abolition of counties in 1929, the Pirazin Village Council was formed in the Agdash region of the Azerbaijan SSR .
According to the administrative division of 1961 and 1977, the village of Agzybir was part of the Pirazin village council of the Agdash region of the Azerbaijan SSR [3] [4] .
In October 1999, the Pirazin administrative-territorial district was divided into Agzybir and Pirazin. In 1999, administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Agzibir municipality of the Agdash region was established within the Agzibir administrative-territorial district. In 2014, the Agzibir municipality together with the ATO were abolished, and the village became part of the Pirazin municipality and the ATO [5] .
Geography
Agzybir is located on the banks of the Kura .
The village is 5 km from the center of Piraz municipality, 33 km from the Agdash district center and 271 km from Baku . The nearest railway station is Lyaki.
The village is located at an altitude of 8 meters above sea level.

In 1886, 258 people lived in the village, all of them were Azerbaijanis, by religion - Sunni Muslims.
The population is engaged in cotton growing, grain farming, animal husbandry and coconut farming [7] .

The average annual temperature in the village is +14.9 ° C. The village has a semi-arid climate.
Infrastructure
In Soviet times, a dairy farm was located near the village [8] , and in the village itself there was an eight-year school, library, club, and maternity hospital.
Now in the village there is a post office [11] , a secondary school, a mosque, a library, a hospital, an outpatient clinic.
