History

The order for the construction of the submarine was given on October 14, 1941 . The boat was laid down on January 4, 1943 at the Blom und Foss shipyard ( Hamburg ) under building number 202, and was launched on October 6, 1943 . The boat went into operation on November 30, 1943 under the command of Oberleutenant tsurzee Albrecht Schubart. It was equipped with a snorkel .
