Pandora Tomorrow is the first multiplayer stealth game. At the beginning of development, the game was called Shadow Strike [1] .

Content

Gameplay

Gameplay is a little different from the first part of the series. The game has slightly improved graphic design. Sam got at his disposal a pistol with a laser sight, which shoots much more accurately than the previous equivalent, plus new grenades. Sam learned to open the door while dragging the body of the enemy and whistling. To overcome the open passages unnoticed, Sam got the opportunity called the “ SWAT turn”. In addition, he learned to do a double jump in half. The PS2 and NGC versions received an extra scene in the jungle (advanced level of a heroin purification plant). The only item that disappeared from inventory was a chemical illuminator, to which the enemies reacted incorrectly.

Story

Indonesian terrorists led by Suhadi Sadano captured the US embassy in the capital of East Timor - Dili. NSA urgently calls Sam Fisher and gives the task - to penetrate the captured embassy. Sam planted on the coast of Dili. Then he must pass through the village, while not killing anyone and not raising the alarm. Sam successfully copes with this and gets into the embassy building, where he sees Suhadi Sadono for the first time. Fisher's task is to interrogate one of the hostages - Douglas Shetland. Sam successfully copes with this task and gets computer information in a little-known local language. To translate them, Sam goes to the other end of the embassy and shows them to the translator Ingrid Carltson, who worked at the embassy. Although it is impossible to attain absolute accuracy of translation, a few words point to the cryogenic laboratories of the Solnier Cryogenix in Paris. Sam leaves the embassy, while US special forces begin the assault, and sent to France. Upon arrival, he discovers that in the laboratory, the terrorists, led by the mysterious "Sacrificial Penguin", are rapidly sweeping the traces of their stay in the laboratory. In the course of the investigation, Sam finds the only surviving laboratory security guard who managed to photograph the leader of a battle group. After reviewing the data, the NSA found that the “Sacrificial Penguin” is an American agent Norman Sot, who is just on the way on the high-speed train “Paris - Nice”. Sam quietly gets into the express, finds the alleged leader of the terrorists and interrogates him. But the conversation unexpectedly interrupts the call, to which Soth answers and from which it becomes clear that he is a double agent and works together with Suhadi Sadono. Soth is aware that he has been discovered, and is trying to eliminate Fisher, but he, having previously cracked the Sacrificial Penguin laptop, quickly gets off the train with the help of an NSA helicopter.

Notebook Sota pointed out his connection with a group of Syrian terrorists based in Jerusalem. Also, the NSA has learned that what he broke into “Solnier Cryogenix” for the first time, he recently gave them. So Sam is being transferred to Israel, and there, with the help of local intelligence agent Shin Beit Dahlia Tal, he goes to the underground lair of terrorists. But soon Dahlia betrays Sam, and he is forced to shoot her (this can not be done, but then after leaving the dungeons Sam will have to fight with a detachment of snipers), then miraculously avoid the Syrian trap, get information and leave Jerusalem alive. During the mission, it is established that in Paris, Sot was to pick up the invention of scientists "Saulnier", which allowed the safe transportation of the smallpox strain developed by Syrian terrorists. This virus is a kind of "insurance" for Sadono, whose uprising Sot uses to take revenge on the United States for past grievances. Realizing the scope of this plan, the NSA sends Sam to a rebel camp in the jungles of Indonesia to understand exactly how insurance works. It turns out that every evening Sadono makes a call with the code phrase “Pandora Tomorrow”, which through a server on a secret submarine near Komodo Island is transmitted to all virus storage sites in the United States. And, while these places are not defined and all strains are not neutralized, the destruction or seizure of Sadono is impossible. However, having visited the aforesaid submarine, Sam transmits to the NSA information about all possible virus storage points, which are later neutralized by agents of the Shadownet subunit.

Now it is time to take the lead in this conspiracy. Initially, Sam penetrates the captured Indonesian television center, where Sadono is going to make an appeal to the allegedly helpless US. But before he manages to do this, Fisher interrupts all the people in the studio and grabs Sadono, to later transfer him to the American military. Honeycomb at this time preparing for a desperate blow to the Los Angeles airport, planning to spray the virus through the ventilation system. But Fisher manages to stop him, neutralize his assistants and neutralize the bomb. The threat has passed, Sam leaves the airport building towards sunset.

When the mercenaries of Norman Sot attacked the building, he managed to take a picture of Sot on the camera of his phone. Then he hid in the room and locked himself. Sam found him, but here the storyline branches into three directions and it is not known what happened to Francois further: Sam can save him, allow mercenaries to blow up the barrels, thus killing him, or Sam can eliminate Francois himself. Any outcome will complete the mission.
  • Norman Washington Soth († Norman Washington Soth ) (†) - the main antagonist of the game, a former employee of the CIA. During the operation "Red Beard" was injured when his car hit a mine. • Bellagio Sampler ( eng. Bellagio Sampler ) - the secret agent of the CIA and Mossad. This is the pseudonym of a CIA analyst who operated in Jerusalem to obtain a sample of the deadly strain of the smallpox virus in the possession of the Syrian terrorist cell.
  • Azrul Idris Arifin ( born Azrul Idriss Arifin ) - Sadono helicopter pilot, secret CIA agent under cover. I met with Sam during the interception of Suhadi’s talks.

Multiplayer

The most significant difference between Pandora Tomorrow and the first part is multiplayer . It is a battle between Argus mercenaries and Shadownet spies . The game for mercenaries is similar to a first-person shooter . Spy game is more like the Pandora Tomorrow single player mode. Although mercenaries have much more firepower, spies can hide in the shadows, climb different surfaces, run around the walls and quietly eliminate mercenaries one by one. The maximum number of players in multiplayer mode is limited to 4. GameCube does not have multiplayer mode.

Modes

  • Neutralization - spies must deactivate the ND133 bomb. Mercenaries must prevent this.
  • Extraction - spies must find the ND133, pull out the lamps from it and bring them to the extraction point. Mercenaries must prevent spies accordingly.
  • Sabotage - spies should install a modem on the wall next to the ND133. When the timer on the modem stops ND133 will be neutralized. Mercenaries should prevent spies from doing this.

Spies

Spies are armed only with stunning weapons, so they should be guided by stealth and special devices that give an advantage in certain conditions (such as night vision goggles).

Mercenaries

The mercenaries are well armed, but practically have no special devices, unlike spies. All their weapons are focused on the instantaneous destruction of the enemy.
