Biography

Zakir Majidov was born on June 26, 1956 in the village of Khasanabad, Neftechalinsky district . [1] In 1963, he entered secondary school No. 17 in Baku and graduated from secondary school No. 70. After graduating from high school in Baku, in 1963–73, Zakir entered the Higher Military Aviation School in Sasovo, Ryazan Region. [2]

In 1977, having graduated from the same school, he received the rank of lieutenant. Returning to his homeland, Zakir began his career as a second pilot of the AN-2 aircraft in Yevlakh aviation for some time. In 1978, he worked as a mechanical engineer in the Baku Air Force, and in 1978, he again worked during the summer flights on the AN-2 aircraft in the Zabratshi Air Force. In 1980, he was appointed commander of the An-2 plane at Zabrat Airlines. The young lieutenant worked for 7 years in this institution. In 1984, without leaving production, to improve his qualifications, he completed a six-month training course on the Mi-2 helicopter at the Ukrainian Aviation School of Kremenchug. Finally, since 1985, he was appointed commander of the detachment in a Mi-2 helicopter.

Within a short period of time, by appointment of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he became the chief commander of the MI-2 helicopter, for the highest competence and ability, as well as for the quality of the flight. He was one of the first defenders to defend his homeland during an attack by enemies. Z. Majidov, who often flies to the border areas, seeing the situation there, could not remain indifferent while our country was in a very dangerous situation and joined the ranks of volunteers, like many other brave volunteers of our country.

Battle Participation

Zakir Majidov in February 1992 was appointed commander of one of the MI-24 helicopters, in the military air unit No. 843 organized by the National Army in Baku, the village of Kala . Using this helicopter, he destroys the headquarters of the Armenians in the village of Aterk in the city ​​of Agdar and destroys the enemy’s equipment. August 6, 1992 was one of the hottest days of the summer. On that day Z. Majidov flew three times with the crew, breaking the position of the Armenians on the battlefield in Kasapet . [3]

Then, for the fourth time, it was ordered to fly. Z. Majidov, having just returned from a position, carried out this order with great courage and courage. This was his last flight. After a successful military operation, one after the other, helicopter missile attacks aimed at him seriously damaged his helicopter. The brave commander does not lose vigilance, trying to return the helicopter to its territory. But he did not succeed. The brave members of the MI-24 helicopter were: Commander-in-Chief Z. Majidov, 36 years old, an aviation operator who was born in Zmayev, Kharkov region of Ukraine , the only memory of his family, Ruslan Polovinko, 22 years old and a well-aimed shooter-sniper, 19 years old Rakhimov Javanshir Izzet oglu, who was born in the area Gah, they all died heroically for our country. By decree No. 204 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 14, 1992, Majidov Zakir Nusret oglu was awarded the title "National Hero of Azerbaijan" after his death.
