Gameplay
The plots of all parts of the game tell how terrorists develop weapons of mass destruction , and Sam Fisher should prevent them from using these weapons. Missions range from ordinary reconnaissance to capturing enemy commanders.
Stealth is the main element of the gameplay . Random shooting can attract unwanted attention to Fisher, making it difficult to complete the level. In the first two parts, after three alarms raised, the game ended. With the third part, with each alarm raised, the level of caution of enemies increases. They put on body armor, reinforce patrols, and even set up ambushes.
A game is a combination of problems that need a quick fix. Pandora Tomorrow first appeared in stealth games two-on-two multiplayer mode. In Chaos Theory there is also a cooperative mode of passage.
Also, a sound level scale appeared in it. It is noteworthy that the sound level is now affected by shots (even with a silencer), but the dialogues of Fisher and the victim captured by him (which can also be executed or pardoned) do not affect. And compared with the previous two parts, the number of dialogs with the “victims” has increased many times. Almost everyone can be seized and interrogated.
Another indicator was introduced in Double Agent , which the player should follow - the ratio scale. In this part, Fisher becomes a double agent and infiltrates a terrorist group, where he must fulfill the tasks of both terrorists and the Third Tier. The scale shows how well terrorists and the NSA relate to Fisher’s actions, and if one of the scales drops to zero, the game will be lost.
Conviction has a new Mark and Execute ability, which allows you to first mark all enemies in sight and then kill them.
Story

- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent - Sam Fisher infiltrates a terrorist organization as a double agent. It should prevent terrorists from using nuclear missiles and at the same time not reveal themselves. Fisher suddenly has to make a moral choice between saving millions and dying units.
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction - Sam Fisher discovers that the “Third Tier” has begun to do dark things. Fisher is declared the enemy of the country and he is forced to hide from the best agents of the US special services.
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist - Sam has been appointed the leader of the “Fourth Echelon” and together with the team must prevent a series of terrorist attacks in the United States called the “Black List” [1] .
Production
Initially, Tom Clancy rejected the idea of three-eyed glasses by Sam Fisher , arguing that it is impossible to combine thermal vision and night vision in the device. The developers believed that using two different types of glasses would complicate the game, and Clancy had to agree. Three -eyed glasses later became a symbol of the series [3] [4] .
Splinter Cell used Motion capture technology for all characters except Sam Fisher himself. The animators wanted to give him more plasticity and flexibility in movements.
