Memory of the World (Latin America and the Caribbean)
The first recording of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program was made in 1997. [1] Creating a set of world documentary heritage [2] - the program seeks to engage experts to exchange information and attract resources for the preservation, digitization and distribution of documentary materials. As of 2013, the register included 193 monuments of documentary heritage, including records of folk music, ancient languages and phonetics; ancient remnants of religious and secular manuscripts; collective lifetime works of famous giants of literature, science and music; copies of iconic films and short films, as well as reports containing changes on the world political, economic and social arena. Of these, 33 were nominated by Latin American and Caribbean countries.
