Career
Loic Meyar, born in Neuchâtel, made his FIS race debut on November 17, 2011 in a special slalom. On January 11, 2014, he debuted at the European Cup downhill in Wengen.
On January 10, 2015, he made his debut at the World Cup stage in the giant slalom in Adelboden. On January 28 of the same year, he won his first victory and the first podium in the European Cup, in the giant slalom in Crans-Montana. Two months later, he won three medals at the Hafjell World Junior Championships: gold in combination, silver in giant slalom (finished second after Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen) and bronze in the super giant.
At the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz, his world debut took place, he took 21st place in the giant slalom. In the youth world championship in Are, he won a gold medal in combination and in giant slalom.
At the XXIII Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang in 2018, he took 9th place in the giant slalom, 14th in the special slalom.
On December 19 and 20 of the same year, he twice climbed the second step of the podium at the World Cup stage in the Austrian Saalbach-Hinterglemm . These were the first high achievements at the stages of the World Cup [1] [2] .
