Biography
Born on December 20, 1863 in the city of Leuvenstein.
Initially, he studied at the Stuttgart Polytechnic Institute, then attended the Stuttgart Academy.
In 1891, Manuel moved to Karlsruhe , enrolled in the Neue Kunstschule and at the same time studied at the Academy of Arts under Gustav Schönleber , who influenced his work. Wielandt visited Italy for many years, which was reflected in many of his works, in particular, “Einsamer Friedhof an der Riviera” (1890), “Thyrrenische Küste” (1891), “Insel der Kalypso” (1899). For his works he was awarded the Big Medal of Nice (1899) and the Honorary Diploma of Turin (1902). [3]
In 1903, Munuel Wilandt moved from Karlsruhe to Munich , continued his trips to Italy, exhibited his works, including abroad. Along with his oil paintings, numerous watercolors, drawings, lithographs and etchings appeared, often reproduced in magazines and on postcards . In Germany, he painted many landscapes and urban views. [3]
He died on May 11, 1922 in Munich.
