Kravtsov, Evgeny Mikhailovich

Evgeny Kravtsov - Russian artist . Born in the Altai Territory in 1965 . In 1989 he graduated from the Novoaltaisky Art School. In 1989-90 he taught drawing at the Novoaltaisky Art School. In 1996 he graduated from the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture . A favorite theme in the work of Kravtsov is the nature of the Russian North, where the artist regularly went on creative expeditions. The result of these trips was the creation of such paintings as the “Mezenskiy Boats”, “Palashchele”, “Northern Night”. These works continue the traditions of such Russian artists as Levitan , Turzhansky , Byalynitsky-Birulya . Already in these works, Kravtsov’s characteristic cold, muted gamma is characteristic. Subsequently, the artist exacerbates this technique, focusing on the graphic, texture of the subject, developing his own pictorial technique, combining oil painting with a sepia pattern on the canvas.

At present, the artist lives and works in the town of Kosteryovo, Vladimir region . Recently, the favorite genre of the artist is still life , the image of everyday household items: garlic, baskets, table surfaces. And here Kravtsov has something in common with the American artist Andrew Wyatt , both in the plot and in the performance. I especially want to mention such works by the artist of the last period, such as “Spilled Milk”, “Thistle”, “Peace”, “Roll over the Field”.

The artist has repeatedly participated in group and personal exhibitions in Russia and abroad. His works are in the Museum RAZhViZ , in private collections in Russia , France , England , Italy and the United States . Participated in the reconstruction of the Royal Doors in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior .
