Biography

In the Armed Forces of the USSR since 1964. He graduated from the Ulyanovsk Guards Higher Tank Command School named after V.I. Lenin in 1968. He served in the tank forces for a long time: commander of a training tank platoon , since 1972 - company commander , since 1974 - commander of a training tank battalion , since 1975 - chief of staff of the regiment .

In 1978 he graduated from the Military Academy of the Armored Forces named after Marshal of the Soviet Union R. Ya. Malinovsky. Since 1978, he commanded the regiment of support for the educational process, from 1980 - the deputy commander of the tank division, from 1985 to 1987 - the commander of the tank division. In 1987 he was sent to study at the Academy. In 1989 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR named after K. E. Voroshilov. Since 1989 - First Deputy Army Commander ( Turkestan Military District ). From 1992 to 1994 - the commander of the army ( Far Eastern Military District ). He served in the Moscow Military District , the Central Asian Military District , and the Southern Group of Forces (Hungary). The military rank “ Lieutenant General ” was awarded in 1993 [1] .

Since 1994, he served in the EMERCOM of Russia , in December of this year he was appointed head of the Academy of Civil Protection of the EMERCOM of Russia [2] . Since 2003 - Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management . Since October 2004 - chief military expert of the Russian Emergencies Ministry [3] .
