Onuka (album)

ONUKA's debut album ^[5] , released in 2014 and is freely available on the network ^{[6] [7]} , ranked first in the iTunes online store ^{[8] [9] [10]} , ahead of the Ocean Elzy group ^[11] . The debut disc contains 10 tracks, among which are 4 songs from the mini-album “Look - When I Met You”, “Misto”, “Time” and “Look” that are already familiar to the listeners. The album is filled with traditional Ukrainian sound motifs, played on sopilkah, bandurah and trembits. All this is connected with the electronic arrangement, the creation of which is engaged in Evgeny Filatov ( The Maneken ) ^[12] - the sound-producer of the group. He also participated in the work on the latest album of Jamala . The previous mini-album Onuka won the first place in the online store iTunes. October 17, 2014, the singer presented her album at a solo concert in the Kiev club Sentrum ^{[13] [14]} .

Immediately thereafter, on the American label Most Addictive Records , which specializes in the genres of Pop / Indie Dance / Garage, the Ukrainian single Zavtra was released.

After the success of the debut album “ONUKA”, the soloist of the group Nata Zhizhchenko said that when searching for information about similar groups or other similar names, she found only the name of the station in the Japanese prefecture of Fukushima , near the emergency Fukushima nuclear power plant . Nata suggests that precisely because of the name of the group, Japan became the second country after Ukraine in the number of sales of the debut album ^[15] .

In December 2014, the group was awarded the winner in two categories of the Cultprostir rating: as the best debut of the year and the best debut album ^[16] .
