Referenda and consultations in Ecuador took place on February 4, 2018. In total, voters had to answer seven questions, of which 5 referenda concerned constitutional amendments and 2 advisory votes related to laws. Consultations with the people were announced by the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno [1] [2] . All proposed constitutional and legislative amendments have been approved.

Context
President Lenin Moreno September 4, 2017 made the first statement on the possibility of a People's Consultation. Two weeks later, on September 18, he urged interested citizens to send questions for analysis and their possible introduction into the consultation. In November 2017, he issued a decree with the permission to hold a People’s Consultation without the approval of the Constitutional Court [3] .
