Biography
He was born on April 22 ( May 4 ), 1834 , in the family of Mikhail Apollonovich Maykov (1799-1881), and subsequently - a general from artillery . He was the grandson of the director of the St. Petersburg imperial theaters Apollo Maykov .
He graduated from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg University and the University of Heidelberg [1] .
He entered the service on September 18, 1855 [2] . He served at the Sestroretsk arms factory , in the artillery department of the War Ministry .
In the years 1862-1866 he was retired. Then he served in the 2nd branch of the Own E.I. Chancellery [2] and in the codification department of the State Council (senior official in 1883-1893) [3] , was a member of a number of commissions. Since April 17, 1879 - a valid state councilor [2] . He retired in 1894 with the rank of Privy Councilor [4] .
