Petr Klima ( Czech Petr Klíma , born December 23, 1964 in Chomutov ) is a former Czech hockey player. Winner of the 1990 Stanley Cup, two-time champion of Czechoslovakia.

Biography

Peter Klima began his career at the Litvinov club. Since 1981, he played in the championship of Czechoslovakia for the main team. In 1983, for two years he joined the Dukla Jihlava army team, in which he twice became the champion of Czechoslovakia. In 1985, he moved overseas, performed in the NHL for 12 seasons. In 1990, he won the Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers . In 1997 he returned to Europe, spent one season in Germany for Krefeld Penguin . In 1998, briefly returned to the NHL, signing a contract with the Detroit Red Wings . From 1999 to 2001, he did not play anywhere, in 2001 he resumed his playing career in his native Litvinov, for which he played two seasons in the Czech Extra League. He ended his career in 2003.

At the end of 2017, he became a coach of the club of the Czech first league Kadan [1] .

His father is a former hockey player of the Czechoslovak team Josef Klima (born January 5, 1938) [3] . Peter Klima has two sons, twins born on January 5, 1997. Both are also hockey players: Kelly plays for the Norfolk Admirals club [4] , and Kevin in the Czech Republic for the Sparta Prague team [5] .
