Born December 30, 1984 in Spokane , Washington ( USA ). Full name at birth Cassandra Monique Batie, stage name Andra Day [3] [4] .
Her debut album, Cheers to the Fall , was released in 2015 [5] and reached No. 48 on the Billboard 200 [6] . At the 58th Grammy Awards , the album was nominated for Best R&B Album and the song “ Rise Up ” for Best R&B Performance . [7] .
