Israel Chess Championship 2000

The Israeli championship was held from December 17 to 28, 2000 in Ramat Aviv and in Modiin .

1st prize: 10,000 shekels (approximately 2,440 US dollars).
Category : 11th (average rating 2511).
Boris Gelfand and Ilya Smirin were replaced by Eugene Postny and Roman Bar.
The first 6 rounds were played at the Kasparov Chess Academy in Tel Aviv, the remaining five in Modiin.
